One way to create a inclusive and stimulating environment is to incorporate multiple intelligences into the classroom environment.
What is the Multiple Intelligences Theory
Dr. Howard Gardner is a psychologist and is known for his theory of multiple intelligences. Below is a short youtube video clip of Dr. Gardner explaining how people have different kinds of intellectual strengths and these strengths are important in how people learn things. He also presents the different ways humans use their intelligences.
Below, I have found a great youtube video that talks about three different styles of teaching: teacher center, student center, and inquiry based learning. Each of these styles create an active learning environment. Watch the video and see for yourself how each of these different styles of teaching work within the learning environment.
Resources
Teaching Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligence's to students is a great resource I found that provides examples of how multiple intelligences are used, and provides activities for teachers to use. One of my favorite activities highlighted in this article is the intelligence stations. This activity is where teachers set up different learning centers that are appropriate and target each intelligence.

Below, I have posted a chart that teachers can use within the classroom when students have completed a certain task. The chart is called “Have You Used Your Multiple Intelligences?”, students are to fill this out and explain how they have used their multiple intelligences. The first chart provided is an exemplar of what to write in each space provided.
